I was born and raised in Iowa. (It's one of the square states near Chicago.)
It's funny now that I am older I still remember the colors and textures of my
youth. We were lucky enough to have 4 actual seasons then and I remember
catching snow on black velvet to make sure that no two flakes were the same;
Utter amazement of seeing the first shoots of Spring flowers push up through
the melting snow, how anything lived through such bitter cold. I remember
looking over acres and acres of tall green corn swaying in the wind like
waves on the ocean and the crisp cracking orange and red of Autumn underfoot.
While form and dimension are
important it's Color and texture have always been my focus. As I grow with
my mosaic work I will be incorporating more natural materials and expand
the scale accordingly. I hope you've enjoyed my site as much as I have
